(Saline, MI) If it is summer in Saline, it is time
for a blockbuster performance by the Saline Varsity Blues Show Choir. That 70’s
Show! will be performed for three consecutive nights July 18, 19, 20 at
Saline High School Auditorium (Ellen Ewing Performing Arts Center). All shows start at 7pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 at the
door. Advance tickets are available at
Busch’s in Saline, Saline Community Education, and Rhythm Dance Crew dance
studio.
This year’s show promises to be bigger and better
than ever, as it is the 30th Anniversary production for Saline
Varsity Blues. “We really wanted to do
something special this year to celebrate the history of the organization,” said
Pat Douglas, show Director. A little bit
of VB history has been thrown into many different aspects of the show, including
contributions from alumni in all areas including choreography. Even the
smallest details have been amped up to represent the success of past shows and
performers.

The 2013 summer cast consists of 84 cast members
broken into three groups: Varsity, Junior Varsity and Kids Cast. Some cast have been members for many years. Sam Scarlett is in his third year and a part
of the Junior Varsity Cast. “I like
being on stage and entertaining people, it’s kind of my thing,” he said. “I like being with my friends, making new
friends, and the cast parties are pretty great too.”

The summer show always showcases the Varsity Tour
performance which took place this year in June in Orlando, FL. The high school cast performed Saturday Night Fever at Walt Disney
World’s Downtown Disney. They were also part of a performance workshop taught
by Disney song and dance professionals (and Minnie Mouse) at WDW Epcot theme
park.
