Vice President Joe Biden will visit Detroit to deliver kickoff remarks at the city’s Labor Day parade gathering on September 1st. The annual event, which attracts participants from across southeastern Michigan, celebrates the achievements of Michigan’s working men and women and our unions.

Biden will speak prior to the start of the parade, which will proceed down Michigan Avenue and then Woodward Avenue to Hart Plaza on the Detroit riverfront.

“Joe Biden is always welcome in Michigan,” said Rick Blocker, president of the Metro Detroit AFL-CIO. “On every critical issue we face – raising the minimum wage, access to health care, the right to organize – he’s been a strong voice for working families. It’s a great honor to have Vice President Biden join our Labor Day celebration.”
