Boy, 17, Accused Of Driving Drunk In Fatal Shelby Township Crash: Cops

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI — A teen is in trouble after he caused a crash that killed a man Sunday in Shelby Township while driving drunk, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
The 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the crash that happened in the area of 21 Mile and Hayes Roads in Shelby Township. Officials said the teen was driving drunk at the time of the crash.
The teen was placed in the Juvenile Justice Center as charges were pending. His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 16.

The victim's identity was not released. No other details about the crash have been released by police.
