Bring Families Back to the Dinner Table

Some of the best moments or some of the best lessons I ever learned were at the family dinner table. I still remember the quote from my father, “Take a look across the table, these are the people that matter.” As I stared across the table at my 6 brothers. He got this quote from my late Grandfather James Crank. He was a wise man and a true family man. The dinner table is full of so many memories. We had so many laughs from a funny story at school, a corny joke from my father, or someone passing gas. “Whoever smelt it dealt it.” The dinner table was such a great place to learn. I learned chew with your mouth close, no elbows on the table, say please and thank you, and lastly, I learned if you eat your vegetables it will grow hair on your chest. I do not know if the vegetable theory has ever been proven ,but regardless I believe my father. As much fun as it was at the dinner table, it was the source of lesson learning and growing up. If we screwed up in school, got in trouble in the neighborhood, or weren’t doing what we should, the dinner table was the place to hear about it. The good and the bad are what make the dinner table great. The the dinner table was our families sanctuary, it was safe. It was a place to unwind, spend time with my family, and just be together. Today, I thank God for the dinner table, I feel like I am the respectable man today because of the family dinners at the Crank house.

Starting November 3, 2014 the Crank family, my family business Crank’s Catering has introduced, “Honey I’m Home, Crank’s Curbside Dinners To Go.” My hope and my dream is to inspire some of the great memories and happy times we had in our family at the dinner table. My goal is to give families an hour, 30 minutes, or even 10 more minutes together laughing, learning, arguing, or just being together as a family. It does not matter what you do as long as you are with the family.

Crank’s Dinners to go are priced low at $29.95/family of 4 ($7.50) person. They are home cooked delicious meals picked up on the go. You can expect meals like yesterday’s Pork Chops, Asparagus, Au Gratin Potatoes, Salad, and Rolls & Butter or Thursday’s Pot Roast, Glazed Carrots, Roasted Potatoes, Caesar Salad, and Rolls & Butter. Call in 24 hours in advance and pick up your order between 4:00p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
