Browning Elementary shares its recipe for success with UCS Board of Education members
Schools hosts special curriculum night

Browning Elementary students, staff and parents cooked up examples of their academic success recently for the UCS Board of Education.
The school presented a curriculum overview called “Browning: A Recipe for Success” prior to the Board of Education’s December 14 meeting.
“In choosing our theme, we are focused on student learning and key ingredients to have our students reach their academic potential,” Principal Nina Hardiewich said.
Prior to the Board meeting, students from each grade level demonstrated in classrooms the innovative ways they are meeting their academic goals.
Programs shared during the evening included math stations in first grade, interactive notebooks in fourth grade, the StoryKit App in use in special education classrooms, and coding lessons in the media center.
“We could not have asked for a better way to visit your school and really get a feel for the culture and the good things that are going on here,” Board of Education President Dr. Carol Klenow said. “It never ceases to amaze me how the way we work with teaching and learning continues to evolve.”
The Board of Education visits two schools annually to view district curriculum in action.
