Camp Teaches Kids to Be Dog Trainers

Kids can grab their dogs and leave their parents at home this summer. Wag N' Tails Dog Activity Center is offering educational, four-day kids' camps for children and their dogs.

This summer, kids can enjoy more than just the local pool. Wag N' Tails Dog Activity Center is hosting Kids' Camp—a fun, educational four days for kids and their dogs.

Kids' Camp includes training in obedience and agility. Tricks are complemented by crafts, activities and special guests. Veterinarians, K9 officers, Leader Dogs for the Blind and Paws With a Cause are some of the special guests who have shared their love and knowledge with previous campers.

Camp is offered in three sessions: June 27-30, noon-3 p.m., July 25-28, noon-3 p.m. and Aug. 15-18, noon-3 p.m.

Kids' Camp is priced at $139 for each dog-child pair. Each additional human sibling is $75. Included in camp are dog-themed crafts all week long, a photo of your camper and dog, presentations from special guests from different aspects of the canine world, daily obedience training sessions, agility training and a graduation ceremony on Thursday where friends and family are invited to see your child and dog's progress.

Dogs who have never attended day care or boarding at the center must attend a prerequisite trial day prior to starting Kids' Camp.
