Charity event is personal for Henry Ford II Falcons

'Coaches vs. Cancer' game netted $500 to fight the disease

The annual Henry Ford II High School girls basketball team ‘Coaches vs. Cancer’ game was a celebration in many ways this year.

Not only did the Falcons team win the game, bring attention to the importance of supporting cancer charities, but they celebrated a teammate who is a cancer survivor. Each player dedicated the game to someone in their life who has had cancer.

The HFII topped Grosse Pointe North 73-70 at the February 17 game, with Falcon Alex Sorgi netting 34 points. The game raised approximately $500 for charity.
