At the June 19 meeting of the Macomb County Clerkβs Association Shelby Township Clerk Stan Grot was selected to serve as the groupβs president for the 2014-15 term that runs until June 2015.
Grot said he was honored that, after two and half years working as the Shelby Township Clerk, his peers saw fit to elect him to this post.
βIt is a tremendous vote of confidence from my peers that they respect the job my staff and I have done serving the people of Shelby Township,β Grot said. βI am honored at this election and will do my best to provide the same high standard of service to the association that I provided for my fellow residents of Shelby Township.β

Grot replaces 2013-14 association president, Chesterfield Township Deputy Clerk Eric Wurmlinger.
βThe Macomb County Clerkβs Association is a tremendous organization that has been a great support for my staff and me since I took office in 2012,β Grot said. βItβs been invaluable to regularly meet with a group of my peers to discuss different views and opinions of the various duties that are part of the Clerkβs Office.β

The Macomb County Clerkβs Association is a non-profit organization that focuses on initiatives to support the role and development of municipal clerks throughout the county. Membership is elective and those who serve as city, village, township, or county clerk, deputy clerk or director of elections are eligible to join.
The association membership represents 22 local municipal governments as well as the Macomb County Clerkβs Office. The 22 member communities represent 591,284 residents or 70 percent of Macomb Countyβs population.
βI am committed to leading the association as we work together to improve service to the residents of all of our member communities,β Grot said.
βThis appointment will in no way hamper my ability to provide the residents of Shelby Township with top-notch service,β Grot added. βIn fact, it will enhance my abilities to support residents and my staff. It gives me even more access to my peers and colleagues in the association as I look for new, better, and more efficient ways to conduct business in the Clerkβs Office.β
