Congratulations UCS CTE Students of the Year
Students honored by the Macomb Career Technical Education Administrators Association

Two Utica Community Schools seniors were named 2026 Macomb County Career and Technical Education students of the year.
Aneeka Mondal, of Stevenson High School and the Utica Center for Science and Industry and Dylan Urban, of Utica High School, were honored Friday at the Macomb Career Technical Education Administrators Association’s 36th Annual Awards Celebration.
Damian’s Auto Service was also honored at a UCS Business Partner.

Aneeka Mondal is an outstanding student whose academic excellence and wide-ranging achievements set her apart. Consistently at the top of her class, she approaches every challenge with creativity, drive and a desire to improve.

Aneeka has excelled in SkillsUSA competitions, was a finalist in Games for Change and demonstrates strong discipline through swimming and diving. She is also an active community member, contributing to the Indian American Student Association, Tri-M Music Honor Society and the National Honor Society. Known for her innovation, leadership and collaborative spirit, Aneeka embodies the qualities of a well-rounded, forward-thinking leader prepared to make a meaningful impact.
Dylan Urban is an exceptional accounting student whose strong attention to detail and advanced understanding of financial concepts set him apart. He consistently demonstrates the ability to grasp and apply complex material quickly, mastering foundational accounting categories far faster than typical students.
Dylan reliably tackles any accounting problem with accuracy and confidence, and he skillfully synthesizes new information into practical, high‑level competence. His ability to correctly identify and categorize unfamiliar accounts further reflects his strong analytical skills.
If Dylan pursues a career in finance or accounting, he is poised to rise quickly and become a highly respected professional in his field.
Damian from Damian’s Auto Service is being honored for his exceptional contributions to all three UCS Automotive Education programs.
Damian, a Masters Technician himself, consistently goes above and beyond to support students and educators. He generously donates both time and supplies, ensuring our programs have the resources needed to keep our technology up to date.
Damian actively participated in our Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) certification renewal process, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining high industry standards.
He also mentors school-to-work students, creating a positive and professional training environment that prepares future technicians for success.
In addition, Damian worked closely with NAPA Auto Parts and Bartech Industries to secure thousands of dollars in tools and supplies for each of the three UCS automotive programs.
His efforts have significantly enhanced the learning experience for our students and strengthened the partnership between education and industry.
Damian has invited students into his shops for field trips and tours, allowing them to experience and view how a successful and modern-day shop operates.
Damian’s dedication, leadership and generosity make him an outstanding recipient for this recognition.
