Crime Brief: Car Window Smashed, Stereo Stolen

Vehicle thieves in Shelby Township were busy last week.

Car Window Smashed

The window of a vehicle parked on the 47200 block of Warwick Friday was busted out and burglarized, police said.

A 19-year-old girl told police that when she came out of her home Friday morning, she noticed the passenger window of her Chevrolet Cobalt was broken and items inside were missing.

Police would not say what items were missing.

The victim’s sister told police that she had heard a loud noise outside around 1 a.m. Friday, but she did not go outside to investigate. The sister also said she did not hear a panic alarm go off.

Stereo Stolen from Vehicle

A man told police his Chevrolet Lumina was broken-into sometime between 9 and 9:45 p.m. Saturday while parked on the 2000 block of Mamoor Street in Shelby Township.

The victim said his Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo was stolen from the dashboard.

The thief also damaged the dashboard while trying to take the stereo apart.
