The Wiley Explosion Show Choir, directed by Stephen Hulbert and Heather Andrus, has ended its 11 year run at Wiley Elementary. The group started in 2005. Along with a Technical Crew, the organization has had just over 200 kids in it during its duration. Wednesday, April 27th, marked the final Cabaret dinner for the group. With 300 people in attendance, including 36 alumni members, the show was one to remember!
The group brought back its "greatest hits" from years' past. The repertoire included "Defying Gravity", "Tribute to Queen", "Dance Evolution", a holiday set, a broadway set, and many others. There were even 4 alumni acts that performed that evening. The highlight of the evening was when the alumni members joined together to sing "Family" from Dream Girls for the finale.
"I will never forget that evening or the last 11 years," Andrus said. "Having this group and this experience has enhanced my career in ways I never thought would exist. The students have taught me so much, I am grateful to all of them, their parents, the staff at Wiley, our friends and family, and of course, Mr. Chris Cassin. His support has been tremendous."
