Davis Junior High School gets grant for outdoor makeover
School to receive $4,500 grant from Lowe's Home Improvement

Davis Junior High School will be getting an extreme outdoor makeover, thanks to a $4,500 grant from Lowe’s Home Improvement.
The grant will allow Davis to improve its grounds with new plants, flowers and mulch. Organizers will also be creating an outdoor seating area for students to use on warm days.
The application to Lowe’s Home Improvement was submitted by teachers Renee Pietraszkiewicz and Kelly Dopkowski.

“Davis Junior High has been very fortunate to be the recipients of several grants during the past school year. The Lowe’s grant at $4,500 is the largest one and something that students and staff are very excited about for Davis,” said principal Brian Shepard. “We are very appreciative of all the work that took place to make this happen and will be even happier with the results. Most of the work will take place next year and we are very excited about the impact this will have on students, staff and the community.”
The Davis Junior High grant is part of the nearly $5 million Lowe’s is donating to schools through its Toolbox for Education program. Since its inception nine years ago, the program has provided more than $35 million to more than 8,000 schools across the country.
