World War II veteran Cecil Pratt represented the U.S. Navy along with others

DeKeyser Elementary students were excited to honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces at their recent talent show.

The show featured two video tributes to the men and women who protect our country and preserve our freedom. A song sung by fifth grader Jade Burnett entitled “Hero in this Place” was a tribute explaining how today’s children consider our military members heroes.

Several veterans from our community were in the audience. One active duty Army National Guard member came in uniform. World War II veteran Cecil Pratt represented the U.S. Navy, along with a submarine captain and several veteran submariners. The military heroes were recognized and presented with DeKeyser appreciation certificates.
