Eisenhower teacher gets special Back to School surprise

The first week of school had an extra surprise for one UCS teacher.

The radio program Mojo in the Morning suprised Jennifer Soloman, a
science teacher at Eisenhower High School, as a teacher of the day.

Soloman was nominated by the award by senior Marisa Balsamo, who had her as a chemistry teacher last school year.

“She is amazingly selfless, and she makes her students feel warm and
comfortable,” Balsamo said. “You can never feel judged with her and she
makes school an inviting place.”

Soloman was surprised Wednesday with the award, which was presented live
on the radio. She said she was honored by the recognition and proud to
be a teacher.

“It’s so rewarding,” she said.
