Eppler Junior High School students are paying a permanent homage to their hometown.

A group of students spent time after school over the past few months painting a mural of a montage of the City of Utica and some of its landmarks.

"The students wanted to share with the Eppler community a part of the heritage of the city they hold near and dear," said Eppler principal Jerry Pantano.

The students are Sama Alomar, Isabella Chirco, Marlan Collier, Savannah Gibson, Amelia Goble and Mackenzie Malone. Their art teacher is Emily Ottaviano.
