The Macomb County Marine Patrol is holding a Boating & Personal Watercraft Safety Course March 5 and 12, 2011, at the Shelby Township Community Center.
The classes are for persons age 12 and older. (Anyone born after Dec. 31, 1978, cannot operate a personal watercraft until they obtain a Boating Safety Certificate.) All other operators are encouraged to take this course to familiarize themselves with any new laws.
Pre-registration is required. Those who sign up to take the coursework must attend both sessions and take a written test to receive the certificate.

Cost is $10 for residents; $15 for non-residents.
