Winter time is here, and Shelby Township is taking full advantage with its Winter Fest and Family Cookout event at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center on Saturday, Jan. 28.
From 11 a.m.-4 p.m. the center will be hopping with seasonal and wildlife fun. Highlights include:
- A winter wildlife walk
- A birds in winter program
- An animal tracks and signs craft
- An opportunity to "look closely" using magnifiers and microscopes
- A snowflake project
- A chance to meet with "Professor Frost Bite"
- A wildlife skulls, skins, and scat session
- Time to meet live animals, and more.
For the cookout, be sure to bring hot dogs, chips, drinks and whatever else you want to prepare for your picnic lunch; which is planned from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Everyone will also enjoy a marshmallow roast around the fire.
