Ford II students mentor elementary students on good decision-making

SADD members from Henry Ford II High School share anti-bullying and conflict resolution skills with Graebner Elementary students

A group of Henry Ford II High School students visited Graebner Elementary to share good decision-making skills with their younger peers.

Nine members of SADD (Students against Destructive Decisions) worked in partnership with a former and current Sterling Heights police officer to talk to Graebner fifth graders about “destructive decisions.”

The Graebner students then broke into groups with the Ford II students to take part in skits about bullying and destructive decisions. Each skit demonstrated a consequence or resolution to an everyday situation students may encounter.

“I’m very proud of these students and the messages they shared with the fifth graders,” said Ford II teacher Tracey Metro. “These students are truly our future leaders.”

Ford II students who took part were SADD presidents Dan Jian and Carrie Ross; vice presidents Anna Kang and Joe McMullen; sophomore representatives Alyssa Juncaj and Melissa Cianferra; and members Katy Wolff, Madison Lindaman and Caitlin King.
