Home-shaped art work aims to help families get the real thing

Plumbrook Elementary students are hoping their home-shaped clay ornaments will help families get the real thing.

Plumbrook Elementary students in the Academically Talented and Gifted (ATG) program recently created clay ornaments that will be sold to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

“This is a wonderful community service project for our students to gain awareness of this organization that provides housing to families that might otherwise never have the chance for home ownership,” said Plumbrook staff member Terri Woznicki, who helped organize the event with ATG coaches Sarah Hansen and Erica Folino and art teacher Gail Borowski.

Students constructed and glazed the home-shaped ornaments which will be sold at Habitat’s annual dinner in December at Mirage Banquet Center.
