K-12 art graduates to the next level

Artwork by Utica Community Schools students displayed at Oakland University

Utica Community Schools students had the opportunity to be artistically represented at Oakland University recently.

Shelby Drapinski, a current UCS K-12 student teacher of art, presented an exhibition of student artwork in the lobby of OU’s Pawley Hall. Drapinski is student teaching at Eisenhower High School under the supervision of teacher Josephine Braun and at Morgan Elementary School under the supervision of teacher Karen Borbolla. Both schools had every grade level represented in the week-long exhibit.

University administrators, professors and guests offered an abundance of compliments and positive feedback for the K-12 artwork. The UCS students and their families thoroughly enjoyed having their works on display at the collegiate level.
