Macomb Habitat for Humanity 'Brush With Kindness' Drive at Gorman's

Donations of building supplies can be made at Gorman's Lakeside design center in Shelby Township on M-59 during business hours

Through the end of February, Gorman’s Home Furnishings and Interior Design’s Lakeside showroom (14285 Hall Road) will host a collection drive for Macomb County Habitat for Humanity’s (MCHH) Brush with Kindness trailer, which houses tools that are taken to projects throughout the county.

MCHH works with low-income, elderly, disabled, veterans and military family homeowners to maintain and repair their homes. Its Brush with Kindness program helps ensure that homeowners: are living in safe and well-maintained homes, staying in their present homes by protecting their financial investments and have dignity and pride of homeownership.

“The need is greater than ever. We have many indvidiauls deserving of their own home so the offer from Gorman’s to collect items for our Brush with Kindness trailer is very much appreciated,” said Helen Hicks, MHCC president and CEO. “Thanks to the support from local businesses, like Gorman’s, and the community, we are able to help low income, working Macomb families have an affordable place where they may dwell in dignity.
