Maday a Serious Role Model for Chieftain Football
Senior football captain Alex Maday is a positive role model for the Chieftains and has his sights set on college football.

Alex Maday works hard, plays hard and is a serious role model for his teammates.
What more can a coach ask from his captain?
"This year Alex is playing on both sides of the ball this year and is a true captain for us," said football coach Tony Smith. "He is one of the hardest working kids we've got. He's got a good attitude and is a positive role model for the younger kids. He's also very athletic and difficult to block. I've seen him get doubled a lot."

Maday is a defensive lineman and right tackle for the Chieftains in his second year on the varsity team.
"We are like a family here," said Maday. "We work together and all try to do our best. We never quit until the end. Everyone supports each other 100 percent."

Maday's play has caught the eye of some Division II college scouts and they have started to pursue the senior.
"I'm not sure what school I'd like to go to yet, but I do know I want to go into the medical field and play football," said Maday. "And when I go I will miss my coaches a lot. They are the best coaches I've ever had."
Maday works as hard in the classroom as he does on the field.
"Alex has a 3.5 grade point average and a prosperous career ahead of him I'm sure of it," said Smith. "He is a perfect role model and when he graduates I will miss being around him. I also coach him for shot put in the spring. Whenever you have a chance to be around a kid like Alex and spend time with him, you will miss him. Every kid has a place in our hearts of course, but Alex is definitely a special one."
