Malow band performs at historic Music Hall Jazz cafe in Detroit

The Malow Jazz Band performed this week at the Music Hall Jazz Cafe in Detroit.

The Malow Jazz Band under the direction of Jeff Groth performed the opening jazz set for the Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra.

“Performances outside the classroom gives the students an educational opportunity to elevate their individual and ensemble musicianship in a historical jazz venue like Music Hall Jazz Cafe,” Groth said.

The Malow Jazz Band has opened for the Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra two previous performances at Cliff Bell’s.

Gwinnell also performed with the Malow Jazz Band on one of his compositions “Green Room” at the Detroit Jazz Festival this past Labor Day.
