Man Kidnapped In Shelby Township Leads To Police Chase, Crash: Police
A man was arrested in connection to a Shelby Township kidnapping and police chase that ended Monday night in a crash, police said.
SHELBY TOWNSHIP, MI — A man was arrested in connection to a Shelby Township kidnapping and police chase that ended Monday night in a crash, according to police.
Police said a 24-year-old man was taken by four armed men from the parking lot of the Lifetime Fitness on Lakeside Boulevard in Shelby Township at about 7 p.m.
Officers found a vehicle in connection to the kidnapping driving on Dearing Drive near 15 Mile and Dodge Park roads in Sterling Heights, but when they tried stopping it, the driver sped off, leading officers on a chase for roughly a mile before crashing in the area of 15 Mile and Maple Lane roads, police said.

Police arrested one man while three other suspects got away, police said.
Officers found a 24-year-old man who was tied up inside the vehicle and suffered minor injuries, reports said. Officers also found a loaded rifle inside the vehicle, police said.
