Monfort Elementary is a cut above

Students, staff and parents donate to Wigs 4 Kids

Monfort Elementary students, staff and parents shaved their locks recentlyto make three wigs for a child in need of hair replacementآ

The school’s Goodness Gorilla club sponsored two spirit days and collected $500.00 to donate to Wigs 4 Kids, the charitable organization that coordinates the event.

The Shelby Twp. Optimist Club also presented Maggie Varney, Founder and CEO of Wigs 4 Kids Wellness Center and Salon, a check for $200. The money will help us sponsor a child in need of hair replacement.

Wigs 4 Kids is a non-profit organization that reaches out to kids and young adults with hair loss.

Donating their locks were Monfort teachers Kelly Daniels and Jenny Suardini; student teacher Stephanie Siewert; parents Nancy Lubien
Tammie Phelps, Lori Schultz and Mandy Shugart; and students Grace Adams, Alyssa Divozzo, Abigail Goodwine, Brooklyn Hathcock, Sophia Leming and Jocelyn Penokie.
