Student's art work will grace 2016 environmental cover

Monfort Elementary student Liliana Caruso has the environment covered!
Caruso won the grand prize for Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Anthony V. Marrocco’s 2016 Environmental Calendar art competition. Her work will grace the cover of the calendar and be featured in January.
Caruso, a third grader in Mrs. Kane’s classroom, will received the grand prize of a pizza lunch for her entire class at Monfort.
One drawing is displayed for each month of the calendar, including 24 other “Honorable Mention” artwork winners.
The theme for the contest was “Water Resource Adventures.” Students were asked to think of their experiences-real or imagined-on how they have enjoyed our local waterways and/or their behaviors that would protect them.
Other UCS students honored through the calendar include:
-Miles Laessle, of Plumbrook Elementary, will featured in December
-Brock Schultz, of Monfort Elementary, is an honorable mention for January
-Adaline Beveridge, of Plumbrook Elementary, is an honorable mention for October
