New song gets world premiere by Utica Community Schools Honors Choir

Elementary honors choir to perform Thursday evening at Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights

Utica Community Schools Honors Choir will perform at Henry Ford II High School Performing Arts Center Thursday, December 4 at 7 p.m.

The concert’s theme is “Music is Natural.” The students will perform songs about nature and seasons, as well as music from Disney’s “Frozen.”

The concert will also feature a world premiere of a new composition by UCS music teacher and published composer Dana C. R. Gress entitled “This Child,” based on the poem “Sitting by Your Self” by David Gerardino.

The UCS Honors Choir is directed by Susan Rosso, Dana Gress and Jessica Nichol.
