North Oakland Concert Band Presents "A Celtic Air"

The North Oakland Concert Band will present “A Celtic Air” at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Lake Orion High School (495 E. Scripps Rd., Lake Orion). The band and special guest artists will celebrate the traditional music and dance of Ireland and Scotland in works ranging from folk songs to contemporary interpretations. Bagpiper Donald K. Ross will open and close the program, which also features Irish dancing by the Shannon Irish Dance Company. Program highlights include the world premiere of The Burren: A Portrait of County Clare, a Celtic-inspired work composed by band member Rob Burns. At 3:35 p.m. there will also be a special pre-concert dance presentation by the Shannon Irish Dance Company. Admission is free; donations are appreciated.
