Scholarship helps insure UCS student pursues leadership training

Student one of approximately 60 in the state to earn scholarship

A local foundation helped to insure that a Utica Community Schools student had the opportunity to take part in a unique leadership training.

Eisenhower sophomore Julianna Belanger participated in the MASC/MAHS leadership camp at Albion College, courtesy of the SET SEG Foundation.

She was one of only 65 scholarships provided by the foundation.

MASC/MAHS Summer Leadership Camp taught students life-changing leadership skills to aid them in their academic pursuits and future endeavors. Students attended sessions addressing leadership styles, communication, organizational skills, public speaking, team building, and project planning.

Students left camp with a wealth of knowledge and experience to take that information back to their respective schools.

“SET SEG congratulates Julianna for her hard work and commitment to leadership,” said SET SEG Foundation Executive Director Lisa Truscott. “We trust that she will apply the lessons she learned at camp to her leadership activities in her school and community.”
