Schwarzkoff Elementary students pledge to be school leaders

Newest members inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society

Schwarzkoff Elementary held a special ceremony to welcome its newest members into the school’s chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS).

Twenty-five students proudly walked across the stage and took the pledge during the January ceremony. NEHS recognizes students in grades four through six for their outstanding achievements in and out of the classroom.

To be considered for membership, students are required to maintain a high grade point average and outstanding citizenship and also receive a teacher recommendation.

Throughout the school year, the NEHS students are also required to participate in at least five service projects/activities, as well as demonstrate scholarship, responsibility and leadership - which are the pillars of the organization. The students understand the importance of service to their school and community and serve as role models to those around them.
