The Shelby Township location is the first franchise to open in Michigan, but there are more than 200 Menchie's locations around the world in countries as far away as Saudia Arabia and New Zealand.

Menchie's motto is smile before you mix, weigh and pay. The yogurt is paid for by weight—not topping—at a cost of 45 cents per ounce. There will always be 14 rotating flavors of frozen yogurt out of 140 flavors, ranging from the standard chocolate and vanila to exotic flavors such as Irish mint and mango tart and even losher and gluten-free options.

Toppings range from fresh, locally-grown fruit to chocolate, sprinkles and nuts.
