Stephanie Eagen named MSBO School Business Official of the Year
UCS Assistant Superintendent for Business Services awarded the Michigan School Business Official's School Business Official of the Year

Stephanie M. Eagen, Utica Community Schools Assistant Superintendent for Business Services was recently awarded the Michigan School Business Official’s (MSBO) School Business Official of the Year at MSBO’s 78th Annual Conference. This award honors an individual for their accomplishments and contribution to their profession, MSBO and their school district.
Eagen’s many accomplishments include seeking additional federal resources allowing for the completion of a $29 million transformation of Utica High School – the district’s original high school.
In 2012, she implemented ASBO International’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the district, meeting the standards and has earned the ASBO Certificate of Excellence in reporting every year since.
Eagen is a past president and board member of MSBO and continues to serve as a presenter and mentor to members.

“Ms. Eagen exemplifies the crucial role of the business official in providing financial leadership in our schools,” said MSBO Executive Director David Martell. “She has been a strong mentor for our association members and works tirelessly to advance the profession of school business professionals.”
“Ms. Eagen brings integrity and a deep knowledge of school finance to the budget management of Michigan’s second largest school district,” Superintendent Dr. Christine Johns said. “Her detailed budget information and insights provide valuable guidance into the district’s decision making and budget development process.”

Eagen will also attend the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International annual meeting, which will be held in Phoenix, Arizona in September 2016 and will be nominated for ASBO’s Eagle Award, which recognizes individuals with outstanding and visionary leadership in school business management.
The MSBO’s 78th Annual Conference & Exhibit Show was held April 26-28, 2016 at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids, MI.
