Stevenson EL students help welcome newest US citizens

A group of Stevenson students helped welcome new U.S. citizens at the Macomb County Naturalization Ceremony.

Students in the English Learner (EL) program helped distribute programs, flags and led the pledge of allegiance at the ceremony.

"Our students did a great job representing Stevenson," said EL teacher Anahita Azami.

Azama said students saw a number of Stevenson graduates among the 45 individuals taking pledge to become U.S. citizens at the March 11 ceremony.
