This year, in an effort to bring the game to more young people, Stony Creek has extended its junior rates to men and women under 20 years old.
For parents who have kids interested in being the next Phil Mickelson, you can start planning summer golf lessons now with The First Tee of Detroit hosted at four Huron-Clinton Metroparks this summer including Stony Creek. Boys and girls, 7 to 17 years of age, can sign up for three days of workshops in golf instruction. Golf camps offer 12 hours of instruction. Kids need not have any prior golf experience to participate in the lessons except for the Birdie & Eagle Camp at Stony Creek Metropark, which requires students to have passed “Par” certification in The First Tee program.
