Strike up the Utica Community Schools BandARama on October 7

Annual event features all four marching bands

All four award-winning UCS Marching Bands will be presenting the annual BandArama at 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 7 at Swinehart Field, 47255 Shelby Road, Shelby Twp. MI 48317.

Band-A-Rama showcases the district’s talented high school musicians in truly remarkable field performances.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Louis Gonda Memorial Music Scholarship to fund opportunities for UCS band students to further their music education. Over the years, the Gonda Fund has enabled hundreds of students to attend music camps, take private lessons or otherwise enrich their music study.

Tickets are $5 for adults and high school students with junior high school and younger students having free admission. Tickets are available at the entrance and go towards music scholarships for band students.

All four high school bands - will perform their half-time shows.

Chieftain Marching Band – Music of Motown

Eagle Marching Band – The Planets

Titan Marching Band – Superbowl Halftime Show

Falcon Marching Band – Don’t Stop the Music

They will begin the night with a combined performance of the Star Spangled Banner.

Utica Community Schools continues to be honored at state and national levels for the high quality of its music program. The district was selected again this year as one of the nation’s Best Communities for
Music Education.
