Students in UCS celebrate 100 days with 100 days of kindness

Students across the district committed to kindness

To honor a milestone day for the school year, it’s everything 100 for some Utica Community Schools students.

Schools across the district are marking the 100th day of school on Monday through 100 Random Acts of Kindness.

The challenge was issued by DeKeyser Elementary.

“It’s important to do something for someone else – to just be kind,” said fifth grader Jamison Lareau.

Fourth grader Sophie Mongelli said the random acts of kindness are including such things as picking up something others accidentally dropped or helping younger students ties their shoes.

She said the acts of kindness is positive for everyone involved.

“I like to help other because I feel proud of myself,” she said.
