A contract for DTE Energy Music Theatre was approved by the Board of Education at its October 23 meeting.
Previously, graduation ceremonies for the district’s four comprehensive high schools were held at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
With the Palace of Auburn Hills no longer accepting dates for future events, the district evaluated possible venues to accommodate guests and 2018 graduates.
DTE Energy Music Theatre has a seating capacity of approximately 15,000 with nearly 7,000 seats under the pavilion.
In other action from the Oct. 23 meeting, the Board of Education approved a three-year agreement with the district’s clerical association.
The board unanimously approved an agreement with the Utica Technical Office Professional UAW Local 400. The agreement includes a wage freeze for the 139-member association.
