UCS accepting nominations for first Legacy of Excellence awards

First ever program will honor significant individuals who contributed to district's rich history

Utica Community Schools is proud to recognize the positive impact former students, staff and community members have had locally, regionally, nationally and internationally through the new Legacy of Excellence award.

“This award highlights the legacy of excellence that lives within Utica Community Schools,” said Superintendent of Schools, Robert S. Monroe. “The Legacy of Excellence award honors the history of UCS by celebrating the individuals who brought us to where we are today while inspiring the future of our school district.”

UCS will recognize up to 10 awardees in the inaugural Legacy of Excellence class. The recognition is intended for those whose accomplishments are exemplary and noteworthy.

Nominations are being accepted through Monday, May 6, 2024 at uticak12.org/legacyofexcellence. A public event to honor the Legacy of Excellence awardees will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the Palazzo Grande in Sterling Heights.
