UCS art hits the road as part of statewide traveling show
Students selected for VSA Emerging Artists program

Four Davis Junior High School students have art work that is hitting the road this summer. The four student artists have pieces that have been selected for a year-long trip across Michigan as part of the VSA Emerging Artists program. The artists and their work are:• Selena Ermatinger, creature with mixed media
• Addyson Richards, self portrait with digital photography
• Shamar Matthews, mountains with tempra paint
• Farah Wani, sunflowers with oil pastel
Submitted works are juried by distinguished artists, arts educators and administrators. The exhibit travels to galleries, libraries, community centers, and conferences throughout Michigan for one year. Work chosen for inclusion is based on quality and an interest on the part of VSA Michigan to showcase an array of media by artists of different ages, abilities, and geography. The tour features 38 pieces of art and starts at Western Michigan University.
