UCS grad displays talent on national TV
Alicia Michilli sang her way onto America's Got Talent, gained chance at $1million prize

At Eisenhower High School, Alicia Michilli was known as a powerful singer with a bright future.
Now the whole nation knows the 2009 graduate has “got talent.”
Michilli recently appeared on America’s Got Talent, where she received a “yes” from the the four celebrtity judges at her audition and earned entry into the program’s 10th season.

“Alicia has a huge amount of talent wrapped up in a person that is kind, humble...and often goofy!” said Eisenhower High School Music Teacher Julia Holt. “She has been working hard in Nashville to pursue her dreams and is a great role model for my current students. I am very proud of her!”
In high school, Michilli performed as Sandy in the school’s production of Grease and also sang in the school’s Show Choir.

For America’s Got Talent, Michilli performed the Etta James’ hit “I’d Rather Be Blind.”
Comments from the judges included:
- “You channeled your inner soul singer and it came out and it was beautiful - you got me with that song,” said Howard Stern.
- “You sounded really good to me,” said Heidi Klum.
- “It wasn’t pitch perfect from start to end but I could really feel your soul. And you have those voices with great tone,” said Mel B.
- “Sometimes soul is not about perfection. Even if the notes are not right on but we feel you,” said Howie Mandel.
Since her high school days, Michilli has pursued a singing career and has recorded her first EP, available on iTunes.
America’s Got Talent is a national reality television series that features singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and other performers that compete for a chance at earning $1 million through the competition.
