"Leaving a Positive Digital Footprint: Teaching Children Safe and Effective Ways to Use Technology"

Utica Community Schools is hosting an evening presentation on March 11 to provide parents with information on the safe and effective use of the Internet among students.
Leaving a Positive Digital Footprint: Teaching Children Safe and Effective Ways to Use Technology will be held on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Henry Ford II High School, 11911 Clinton River Road in Sterling Heights.
How UCS teaches digital citizenship and appropriate use of technology throughout its K-12 curriculum will be discussed. In addition, parents will learn how they can ensure their children are using quality digital tools and how to further support district efforts to encourage positive digital citizenship skills.

Scheduled speakers and topics are UCS chief of staff Dr. Robert Martin - the district’s revised technology policy, UCS director of elementary programs Catherine Einhaus - teaching digital citizenship and responsibility, UCS executive director of information technology John Graham - Internet security and attorney Kevin Sutton - how students’ behavior in social media can impact their future.
