UCS senior - and business owner - earns four-year entrepreneurial scholarship to Northwood
Blake Berry earned a Betsy and Dick DeVos Scholarship for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship to Northwood University

An Eisenhower High School senior who has already started three businesses has been awarded a four-year scholarship based on his entrepreneurial background.
Blake Berry is one of six Michigan graduating seniors to earn the 2015 Betsy and Dick DeVos Scholarship for Free Enterprise and Entrepreneurship to Northwood University.
To earn the scholarship, Berry had to submit an essay and present to a panel at Northwood University describing his entrepreneurial experiences, successful business models and his philosophy on free enterprise and the American dream.
Berry has already started three businesses: his own yard maintenance company, an automotive detailing business that has serviced more than 45 vehicles annually and an Internet consignment business.
The recommendation from the panel consisting of faculty, staff, trustees and alumni was then sent to the Northwood University president and to Betsy and Dick DeVos for final approval.
Now in its fifth year, the DeVos Scholarships are renewed annually for each of the student’s four years at Northwood, as long as their academic standards are met.
