UCS strikes up the bands on October 4

Family event raises funds for music scholarships

All four award-winning UCS Marching Bands will be presenting the annual BandArama at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 4 at Runkel Field on the campus of Stevenson High School, 39701 Dodge Park.

BandARama showcases the district’s talented high school musicians in truly remarkable field performances.

“It’s great for all of the bands to be together and see what we have accomplished through the year,” said Stevenson senior drum major Joshua Mathews.

Ticket proceeds benefit the Louis Gonda Memorial Music Scholarship to fund opportunities for UCS band students to further their music education. Over the years, the Gonda Fund has enabled hundreds of students to attend music camps, take private lessons or otherwise enrich their music study.

Tickets are $5 for adults and high school students with junior high school and younger students having free admission. Tickets are available at the entrance and go towards music scholarships for band students.

All four high school bands - Eagle Marching Band, Titan Marching Band, Chieftain Marching Band, and Falcon Marching Band - will perform their half-time shows. They will begin the night with a combined performance of the Star Spangled Banner.
