Velocity Jr. fires up over mid-winter break
Camps designed to promote student interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers

Utica Community Schools and the City of Sterling Heights are once again teaming up to provide the popular Velocity Jr. program during mid-winter break February 16-20, 2015.
Velocity Jr. is a series of camps designed to create students excitement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers.
Nearly 20 new camps will be available for all kindergarten through ninth grade students. The camps are held at Rose Kidd Elementary, 38397 Gladstone near Utica and 17 Mile roads in Sterling Heights.

The week-long camps are age-appropriate and include offerings such as Circuit Circus, Mindstorm Robotics, Need for Speed, Science Extravaganza and much more.
Velocity Jr. is open to all interested families and is a partnership of Utica Community Schools, the City of Sterling Heights and Macomb Community College.

The program is a complement to the economic development efforts housed at the Velocity Collaboration Center in Sterling Heights, an initiative for business incubation and economic development targeting defense, homeland security and advanced manufacturing.
