Walk for Kids at Jimmy Johns Field Benefits Rainbow Connection Wish Granting Organization

The Rainbow Connection celebrates the 14th Annual Walk for Kids at the all new Jimmy John’s Field on Saturday, August 20,2016. Dave LewAllen from Channel 7 Action News will lead the Walk along with Wish Child Ambassador Zack from Royal Oak.

Beginning at 5pm with registration, the Walk for Kids kicks off at 6pm with a walk around Jimmy Johns Field. Following the walk, participants enjoy a unique ballpark experience including contests and
games, visits from favorite Superheroes, a spectacular raffle, refreshments, the whiffle ball field, concessions and more! The Eastside Diamond Hoppers and Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers PLAY BALL at 7:25pm.

The Annual Walk for Kids is a crucial fundraiser explains Mary Grace McCarter, Executive Director at The Rainbow Connection, “We count on the support of the community to help us help these children. We know they may have to wait for a thumbs up from their doctor before their wish but we do not ever make them wait for us. We are there for these families 24/7. Still it is all only possible with the support of the community donations.”

Tickets for the 14th Annual Walk for Kids at the Ballgame are just $25 and include the walk, refreshments and
that evening’s super hero themed game.

The Rainbow Connection, the Michigan charity making dreams come true for Michigan children stricken with life threatening also provides support services to the family. From a magical trip to Disney World to biking down volcanoes in Hawaii to meeting the President of the United States, The Rainbow Connection has made
dreams come true for more than 3200 children and anticipates making dreams come true for more than 150 children in 2016.
