Supreme Court opening its 2026-27 term, will hear arguments on notice requirement for state lawsuits (legalnews.com) — South Haven residents should watch a Michigan Supreme Court case that will decide whether the city can claim governmental immunity in a wrongful-death lawsuit over a drowning at the city beach. The justices will also open their new term by hearing several other major civil and criminal cases that could reshape state law on lawsuits, parental rights, and workplace disputes.
2. South Haven returning to normal after huge fire (wilcoxnewspapers.com) — South Haven is slowly settling back to normal after a massive fire at the East Jordan Plastics facility, which drew multiple fire departments but caused no reported serious injuries. 3. South Haven Bark Park ribbon cutting set for October 15 (wsjm.com) — Dog owners in South Haven are about to get a new place to play, as the South Haven Bark Park at Riverwoods holds its ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 15 at noon.
