2 Hurt In Macomb County I-696 Crash That Involved 5 Vehicles: Police
The freeway was shut down for hours while police investigated the crash. It has since reopened.

CENTER LINE, MI — Two people were injured in a Tuesday crash that involved five vehicles on Interstate 696 in Macomb County, according to Michigan State Police.
Police said the driver of a Honda Sedan was speeding in the eastbound lanes on the freeway near Van Dyke Avenue at 6:20 p.m. when it rear-ended a Dodge Challenger in the right lane.
The Honda then spun to the left and hit a Ford F-150, which was then rear-ended by a truck in the left lane, police said.

The Ford F-150 then rear-ended another vehicle, which sped away from the scene, police said.
The 32-year-old man driving the Honda was seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital, police said. The driver of the Dodge was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
