4 Charged In Macomb County Armed Robbery, Police Chase

The four individuals robbed the owner of a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat​ at gunpoint, and then led police on a chase throughout Macomb County.

MACOMB COUNTY — Four people were charged by the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office for the armed robbery and carjacking crime spree that began in Sterling Heights on Tuesday.

Taj Collins, Kyron Holt and Omarion Young were charged with multiple felonies, including three counts of armed robbery and one count of carjacking, according to a news release.

Marques Watson was also charged with multiple felonies, including conspiracy to commit armed robbery, according to the news release.

The four individuals were arraigned Thursday in a Sterling Heights District Court and each are being held on a $1 million dollar bond, according to the news release.

"This was a violent, coordinated attack against victims just going about their business at their own home," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said. "This bond reflects the importance we place on the safety of all Macomb County residents."

The men robbed the owner of a Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat at gunpoint in Sterling Heights on Monday, and then led police in a high speed car chase, in which speeds escalated to over 100 mph, police said.

The chase ultimately involved police officers from Sterling Heights, Warren and the Michigan State Police, officials said.
