Alleged Eyelid Biter Denied Bond Reduction
Macomb County Circuit Court judge denies request to reduce bond for Clinton Township man accused in assault of his estranged wife.

A request Monday by a defense attorney to reduce the bond of a 32-year-old Clinton Township man accused of was denied by a Macomb County Circuit Court judge.
Robert Vandenbroucke, who is representing Rahsaan Thedford, unsuccessfully argued to have his client's $100,000 bond reduced.
"He has never once to failed to appear in court," Vandenbroucke argued before Judge Diane Druzinski.

Druzinski denied the request and set a pretrial date of June 27 for the alleged assault in his wife's home in St. Clair Shores during the predawn hours of Mother's Day.
The couple is alleged to have gotten into an argument over Thedford's alleged assault of his wife's daughter. Police said the argument turned violent as Thedford began assaulting his wife, punching his wife in the face, hitting her head against the hardwood floor and biting off her eyelid before fleeing her house in St. Clair Shores.

When officers arrived, they were greeted by a bloody 34-year-old woman who said Thedford fled the house.
Officers found him a short distance away, hiding under a fence. When he was arrested, police said they found bloody clothes hidden in his coat.
Thedford is being held in the Macomb County Jail on $100,000 bond.
