STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — Vice President JD Vance is expected to speak Monday in metro Detroit.
The event, which is hosted by MAGA Inc., will take place at a manufacturing facility in Sterling Heights. It is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
The event is hosted by Make America Great Again Incorporated, President Trump's political action committee.
Other speakers include Republican gubernatorial candidate Congressman John James, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers and other Republicans seeking office in November's elections, according to event organizers.
Vance's visit to the Detroit area comes less than a week after President Trump signed an executive order on Thursday, renaming Lake Ontario as "Lake America," amid escalating trade tensions between the U.S. and Canada.
Vance last visited the Detroit area in March when he spoke at an engineering design facility in Auburn Hills.
